Twitter files lawsuits to shut down spammers

The spam-ridden micro-blogging site is going to the root of the problem

You're not the only one extremely annoyed with?Twitter spammers ? Twitter is, too. The microblogging site is putting its proverbial foot down and taking its fight against tweeting spam bots to the next level. In an?official blog post, Twitter announced that the company has recently filed lawsuits against five of the most widely used tool providers used by spammers.

The spammers you see on Twitter or other websites are usually bots or computer programs created by tool providers, designed to automatically spam users. One of the most common ways these bots use to spam Twitter is scanning for buzzy terms in people's tweets; the words "iPhone" and "iPad," for instance, are spam bot magnets.

Twitter hopes that the lawsuits the company filed are enough to shut these tool providers down in order to prevent even more spammers from invading the website. But since numerous spammers already own these unethical tools, you still have to be on the lookout and?block bots as usual.
