?MY REVIEW - (this is the first book in the series)

This was a good book, sweet, I liked the storyline and the characters. It was interesting enough to keep me reading.

But - it definitely was not as good as the second book "Lakeside Family". The characters were simpler the storyline was simpler but yet it was a little confusing at times. Also it was VERY predictable with little or no twists. All that said - it still was a good book and I did enjoy it!

The great thing about it is that the second book (in my opinion) is so much better that it shows that the author's writing got better. If there is a third book in this series, I will definitely be reading it.

Both books take place in the same town of Shelby Lake using many of the same characters. In this one you meet Lindsey who is still haunted by the death of her father, doesn't understand her mom's need to move on, and is unable to forgive Stephen for leaving her five years ago. You also meet Stephen who had to wrong one to right another. He had to live with his mistakes and tried to make the right decisions knowing that someone would get hurt.?

This story gives you lots of chances to think - "What would I do if...?"

What would you do if you had a one night stand and that woman was now raising the child you knew nothing about? What would you do if the man you were engaged to left you for a woman he had a fling with two years ago? What would you do if you had a second chance with that man? What would you do if the memories of your father's death were controlling your decisions?

THE ALL-IN-ALL -

All in all this was a very nice Christian love story. It is very clean with good values and clean language.

Step into Shelby Lake in this Love inspired Romance series.

I bought this e-book for my nook after reading "Lakeside Family".

StartX, the startup accelerator for Stanford students, has raised its first big piece of funding ? an $800,000 grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Under the name SSE Labs, StartX first launched in 2010. Since then, 240 founders launching 90 companies have participated in the program. The accelerator says that 85 percent of its companies attract institutional or angel funding within three months of joining the program. StartX has also graduated the first class from its industry-specific program, StartX Med (a six-month program that follows the StartX model, but with training tailored to biotech and medical startups).

University of Michigan connects 3,000 cars for year-long safety pilot

Road safety continues to be a major concern for both researchers and car makers alike. Yesterday saw yet another real-world trial kicking off, this time on a much grander scale. A total of 3,000 vehicles in Ann Arbor, Michigan are taking part in a 12-month project run by the state's Transportation Research Institute. The vehicles have Dedicated Short Range Communications and video recording facilities, which means the cars can communicate with each other, traffic signals, and share data to a central platform -- which in turn issues warnings when high risk situations, or if traffic problems occur. Of course, this trial will also create a massive data set, which researchers will be able to plunder, and help the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) better determine the viability of such systems. So while it's unlikely to lead to self driving cars just yet, it's a step in the right direction.

Carey joined the series following the departure of judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. As TheWrap reported previously, Carey will rake in $17 million to judge the show - the same amount that Lopez was seeking before parting ways with the show. The $17 million payday will make Carey the highest-paid judge on a singing competition, an insider told TheWrap.

So far, Fox, which airs "Idol," has remained mum on the reports of Minaj joining "Idol," and it remains to be seen if Lenny Kravitz is gonna go Carey's way - a spokeswoman for Kravitz has not yet responded to TheWrap's request for comment.

Earlier this month, Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers confirmed reports that he's in the running for a spot on the "Idol" judging panel.

"The rumors are true," Jonas said via Twitter. "I am being considered to be a judge on 'American Idol,' and it would be a dream come true if it happens."
